Terms of Service

By accessing or using VisiSocial ("Service," "Platform," "we," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

VisiSocial is a personality analytics platform that analyzes your Facebook data using artificial intelligence and the Big Five personality model to provide insights into your personality traits.

You must be at least 13 years old to use VisiSocial. By using the Service, you represent that:

• You are 13 years of age or older
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You have a valid Facebook account
• All information you provide is accurate and complete

Facebook OAuth Authentication

VisiSocial uses Facebook OAuth 2.0 for authentication. When you connect your Facebook account, you explicitly authorize us to access:

• Basic profile information (name, email, profile picture, gender, birthday, age range)
• Your Facebook posts and status updates (up to 100 most recent)
• Pages you have liked and their categories
• Your photo albums (we process up to 25 images for OCR text extraction)
• Location and hometown information
• Languages listed on your profile
• Favorite teams and athletes (if available)

Access Tokens

Your Facebook access token is stored securely in our MongoDB database with encryption at rest. Tokens expire after the period set by Facebook and must be renewed through re-authentication.

Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• Sessions automatically expire after 24 hours of inactivity
• You can revoke VisiSocial's access through Facebook settings at any time
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

What VisiSocial Does

VisiSocial provides the following services:

• Personality Analysis: Analyzes your Facebook text data using natural language processing and the Big Five personality model
• OCR Processing: Extracts text from up to 25 of your Facebook photos using Tesseract.js OCR technology
• AI Descriptions: Generates personality descriptions using OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini API
• Sentiment Analysis: Analyzes the emotional tone of your posts using the Sentiment library
• Word Frequency Analysis: Identifies your most commonly used words and phrases
• Interest Categorization: Analyzes your likes to determine your primary interests
• Data Visualization: Displays results through interactive charts and dashboards
• Data Export: Allows you to download your data in JSON, CSV, PDF, or ZIP formats

AI Processing Disclosure

Analysis Accuracy

The personality analysis is based on:

• The scientifically validated Big Five personality model
• The myPersonality dataset for comparison
• Text similarity matching with a threshold of 0.15
• Natural language processing using the Natural library

To ensure fair usage and system stability, the following rate limits apply:

• Dashboard Access: 10 requests per minute
• Analysis Refresh: 5 requests per hour
• Data Export (CSV/ZIP): 5 requests per hour
• Data Export (PDF): 3 requests per hour
• Standard API Endpoints: 100 requests per hour
• Image Processing: Maximum 25 images per analysis session

Exceeding rate limits will result in temporary request blocking (HTTP 429 status). Persistent abuse may result in account suspension.

You agree NOT to:

• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal usage
• Attempt to circumvent rate limiting or security measures
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation
• Upload malicious code or attempt security breaches
• Use the Service if you are under 13 years of age
• Sell, transfer, or sublicense your account to others
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others

VisiSocial's Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of VisiSocial, including but not limited to:

• Source code, algorithms, and analysis methods
• User interface design and graphics
• Logos, trademarks, and branding
• Documentation and written content

are owned by VisiSocial and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Data

You retain all rights to your original Facebook content. By using VisiSocial, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process your Facebook data for personality analysis
• Store analyzed results in our database
• Generate AI descriptions based on your data
• Display results back to you through our platform

This license terminates when you delete your account.

Your Rights

• Export Data: Download all your data anytime via Settings → Export Data
• Delete Data: Permanently delete your account and all data via Settings → Profile → Delete Account
• Revoke Access: Disconnect Facebook integration and stop data collection
• Refresh Analysis: Re-run analysis with updated Facebook data

Account Deletion

When you delete your account:

• All personal data is immediately removed from production systems
• Access tokens are revoked and invalidated
• Backups containing your data are permanently deleted within 30 days
• Some anonymized, aggregated statistics may be retained but cannot be linked to you

Termination by VisiSocial

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in prohibited conduct
• Are found to be under 13 years of age
• Attempt to compromise system security

Service Provided "As Is"

VisiSocial is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of personality analysis results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Security of data transmission over the internet
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers

No Professional Advice

VisiSocial does not provide:

• Medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice
• Professional personality assessments for employment
• Clinical diagnoses or treatment recommendations
• Legal, financial, or professional consulting

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VisiSocial shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Personal injury or emotional distress
• Decisions made based on personality analysis results
• Third-party services (Facebook, OpenAI) failures or breaches

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to liability.

VisiSocial integrates with third-party services:

• Facebook: For authentication and data access (Facebook Terms apply)
• OpenAI: For AI-generated descriptions (OpenAI Terms and Privacy Policy apply)
• MongoDB Atlas: For secure data storage

We are not responsible for the practices, policies, or actions of these third parties. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes:

• We'll update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page
• We'll notify you via email at your registered address
• We'll display a prominent notice on the platform
• For significant changes, we may require you to accept the new terms

Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you don't agree, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of VisiSocial shall be resolved through:

• First, good faith negotiation between the parties
• If negotiation fails, binding arbitration in [Your Jurisdiction]

Class Action Waiver

You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as a class member in any class or representative action.
